Historic New England Charm
The Coach Stop Inn's main building dates to around 1840, with original details such as wide-plank floors and hand-hewn beams still featured. In the past it's been a homestead, a summer residence and even a tourist home in the 1920's and 1930's, and has been in its current iteration as a bed and breakfast since 1996.
We've taken care to showcase the historical charms while upgrading with modern amenities.

Our location just outside of downtown Bar Harbor means easy access to all that Mount Desert Island and Acadia National Park offers. The Hulls Cove Visitor Center is a five minute drive, with downtown Bar Harbor and all its shops twelve minutes away.

Amanda and Derrick have a lovely Bed and Breakfast, and we had one of our best experiences at their classic 1840s Inn. Our room was great: comfortable bed, roomy, updated bathroom, tasteful decorating. And there were freshly baked cookies when we arrived! Breakfasts were delicious, with good conversation, and much knowledgeable advice about the park, shuttles, local restaurants, and sharing experiences. They really anticipated everything, from umbrellas to tide charts. A lovely couple, we’re so glad to have met them. We hope to return soon!
Our stay at the Coach Stop Inn was a highlight of our trip. Derrick and Amanda are wonderful hosts and genuinely nice people. The room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast provided was delicious and used local Maine produce. The location was central to all the sites we wanted to visit like Acadia and Bar Harbor.You can tell that Derrick and Amanda put in the extra effort for their guests.
