Questions
Check-in begins at 4:00 PM, and check-out is by 11:00 AM. We offer self check-in, so you don't need to coordinate an arrival time with us after check-in begins. We'll send the information you need before your stay so you can arrive, get settled, and start enjoying your time in Bar Harbor.
We are just 8 minutes up the road from the Hulls Cove Visitor Center of Acadia. That is also the start of the Park Loop Road. Downtown is a 10 minute drive from the Inn. What’s nice about our area, Salisbury Cove, is that during the high season there are quite a few lunch and dinner options near us without having to venture downtown. For example, Bar Harbor Lobster Pound is a 1 minute drive up the road!
Yes. A freshly prepared breakfast is included with your stay. Fresh brewed coffee is available beginning around 6:45 AM, and hot breakfast is served in the dining room from 8:00 to 9:00 AM. If you cannot make breakfast due to an early morning adventure or flight we offer a cold to-go breakfast available upon request.
Yes, children are welcome at The Coach Stop Inn, with some caveats. We only have two rooms (Abbe & Acadia) with occupancy for three people. Children (including babies and toddlers), count towards that number. We charge a nightly fee of $50 for the third person in these rooms. As we are a historical property, there are steep stairs which may not be suitable for our younger travelers; and while we have outdoor space, we do not have a play area, and we are located on a busier road.
While we are on the main road on and off the island, it is not a multi-lane highway. There is some road noise, but it dies down significantly in the evenings. We provide white noise machines in the rooms just in case, but we find most folks are not bothered by it.
Our property does not have water or trail access. There is a property behind us just before the ocean (those aerial Google views are deceptive), but that is not accessible to guests. We recommend a quick drive to Hadley Point or Hulls Cove for easy ocean access.
As we are a small inn we do not offer events for the public. If you are interested in booking the entire Inn for an event such as a family reunion, microwedding or corporate retreat please reach out and we will be happy to work with you.
Pets are not currently permitted at the Coach Stop Inn.
Yes! We can accommodate almost all dietary restrictions, allergies or preferences. Vegan, diabetic, lactose-intolerant, etc-we’ve got you. Please note that for our celiac friends that while we try our best to minimize cross-contamination that we are not a completely GF kitchen.
Yes! We offer free WiFi throughout the property. You can work from your room, the parlor or dining room.

Amanda and Derrick have a lovely Bed and Breakfast, and we had one of our best experiences at their classic 1840s Inn. Our room was great: comfortable bed, roomy, updated bathroom, tasteful decorating. And there were freshly baked cookies when we arrived! Breakfasts were delicious, with good conversation, and much knowledgeable advice about the park, shuttles, local restaurants, and sharing experiences. They really anticipated everything, from umbrellas to tide charts. A lovely couple, we’re so glad to have met them. We hope to return soon!
Our stay at the Coach Stop Inn was a highlight of our trip. Derrick and Amanda are wonderful hosts and genuinely nice people. The room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast provided was delicious and used local Maine produce. The location was central to all the sites we wanted to visit like Acadia and Bar Harbor.You can tell that Derrick and Amanda put in the extra effort for their guests.
